This excursion will operate by coach, plane and on foot. You must bring your passport with you. The walking tour takes between two to three hours and covers 2½ miles of dirt roads and pathways with gradual inclines and stairways. Tikal is an active archeological research site and some areas and pathways may be closed to visitors without prior notice. Wear sturdy, comfortable, closed-toe walking shoes, a long-sleeved shirt and trousers; bring a raincoat, poncho or umbrella. There is a $3 per person airport security fee that must be paid directly by guests at the Mundo Maya Airport near Tikal (subject to change without prior notice). Please note that airport security restricts the items that may be brought on board a plane due to FAA regulations such as, but not limited to, liquids, gels, corrosive, flammable and/or explosive materials and knifes. This tour may be delayed or modified for your own safety due to weather conditions. Some areas of the ruin are protected by scaffolding.
